Material Disposal Area G

MDA G is located on a fairly narrow, finger-like mesa, Mesita del Buey, within TA-54, which is in the east-southeast portion of the Laboratory complex. MDA G has been used for the disposal of LANL's solid radioactive waste since 1957. While several other sites at the Laboratory have also been used for radioactive waste disposal, MDA G is the only LLW disposal facility currently operating at LANL and is expected to be the only facility used in the future.
